Summer Lovin'

Well, another month has come and gone. I just cannot believe it's already August! School is going to be starting up soon, and next month will be fall already. Time flies. Fo' real. (But I'm not complaining, as I am happy to report that Christmas is only 146 days away!)

Although I'm usually not a big fan of summer (let's get real, I typically dread it because me and triple digit heat just don't mix...), I've actually been enjoying it this year. Shocker, I know! It helps not working overtime every single day of summer (like last year), but also, I'm enjoying life in general right now. I'm going outside of my comfort zone to do things I maybe normally wouldn't do. I'm spending time with friends and family in a way that I hadn't or maybe wouldn't have before. I'm meeting up for a quick bite to eat or catching a movie, and even attempting kayaking on the lake! I've had nights out on the town, enjoyed the 4th with lots of family at the lake, and participated in a 5k! It's been a fairly busy summer so far, but I've enjoyed it.
Goodbye July, hello August

With that, I'm really looking forward to what August will bring! There are some pretty exciting things coming up that I'm absolutely giddy about! I can't wait to share them with all of you in the near future :).

I've also come up with a list of things I hope to accomplish this month - a bucket list, if you will.

//be intentional in my time with the Lord
I've had such good intentions lately, but I've been slacking in the following through part of my plans for the current bible study I'm doing. I really want to focus on coming up with a good routine for bible study and work on sticking to it. I truly feel that this month is the time to kick it off right and see where this takes me!

//take more pictures
Ever since this divorce thing started happening, I've been slacking in the photography department. Maybe it's because I haven't really felt like myself and am figuring out who I am on my own that I haven't been content behind the camera. That's going to change this month, I can feel it!

//complete a diy project
Since moving into my new place (which I'm loving!), I haven't done any diy projects, and it hurts my heart. My new home is ready for some fun, summer lovin' craftiness! We'll see how that goes...

//figure out my finances
I have to admit that I haven't been the greatest with this aspect of my life lately. I'm ready to get back on track with this and get my spreadsheet up to date and consistently keep up with it. I guess that means it's time to be responsible again...*sigh*.

//pool days
It's summertime, sweet summertime, and I haven't been to the pool once! Eeeek! This must change, soon! Although I've been to the river and the lake, I'm ready for some pool days, sippin' on some wine and basking in the glorious sunshine. It's pretty much way overdue. Anyone want to join me?!

//trip to Goodwill
With moving comes downsizing, at least for me. I tend to keep all kinds of things over the years and then when it comes time to moving, I rethink it all and realize I have wayyyy too much stuff. My family would agree wholeheartedly! I keep saying over and over and over and over and over again that I'm going to take clothes and things to goodwill and just never seem to get around to it. So, this month that's changing! I'm saying goodbye to a lot of stuff and hope that it all finds a good home with someone who needs it way more than I do!

And with that, I'm saying sayonara to July and am welcoming August with open arms!

What are you looking forward to this month?
