I can remember cruising around town jamming out to this song, especially thinking of relationship troubles or what have you. It really takes me back! I was in 8th grade at the time...wow!
Baby Bash - Suga Suga
"You got me lifted, feelin' so gifted, suga suga how you get so fly?" The jam!
50 Cent - Candy Shop
Oh man, this song. Easily one of my favorites - crank it up and run with it! A fun one.
The Black Eyed Peas - My Humps
This song takes me back to my girls and riding around in high school during lunch and again after school on the way to softball practice. Oh, the memories! "What you gonna do with all that junk, all that junk inside my trunk?"
D4L - Laffy Taffy
Dance jam for sure! This was almost always on a workout CD or pre-game jam list for volleyball games.
Chingy - Right Thurr
"I like the way you do it right thurr, right thurr..." I hung out with an older crowd in 8th grade, and this song will always and forever be correlated to those times. So fun!
T.I. - Bring 'Em Out
Our pre-game run-out song! Of course :). Listening to this song makes me want to jump out on the court and play some volleyball!
Outkast - The Way You Move
"I like the waaaay you move" (dun dun dun). Another fun dance jam! We moved with the best of them, but weren't very good at it! Haha. More fun memories.
Missy Elliott - Work It
"I put my thang down, flip it, and reverse it." This song was incorporated into our drill team routines back in the day. It was fast and I remember us trying to learn it and just laughing. Oh to be young and have no responsibilities again!
DMX - X Gon' Give It to Ya (dirrrrty)
Whoa, this song really takes me back! We had a dance routine to this song in junior belles, and I always loved it! We utilized the clean version, of course. DMX was hawtt!
R Kelly - Ignition (remix)
"Go on ahead and break 'em off with a little preview of the remix..." I honestly didn't listen to the words very closely back in the day when we'd jam out to this song. It has some fun music and sounds, and it was another jam to just hang out to with the girls!
Listening back through these songs really have me reminiscing my junior high/high school glory days - if you can even call them that. Just fun times with not a care in the world. It's fun to look back and be able to compare the differences in this genre from then and now, about 10-13 years later!
