So this post is comin’ at ya suuuuuper late, but I definitely didn’t want to just avoid posting it, even if I am 4 months behind. #momlife. I’m sure it won’t be the last time…
So, Landon hit his 12 month milestone and I was a complete wreck. I mean, I was definitely feeling ALL THE FEELS that my son was actually turning one year old. Not that I thought it wouldn’t happen, but it just happened so dang fast. It’s unreal how time truly does fly!
Landon weighed 30 pounds and was 32 inches tall! He’s never been a small boy, but I’m so thankful he’s grown so much and is such a healthy boy. He hadn’t eaten much table food by his first birthday and still loved all things baby purees and yogurts. He had 5 teeth so finger foods are starting to legit be an option now. (not that they weren’t before, but I’m ready to put those chompers to good use!) Landon still absolutely loved bath time but was really starting to stand for most of it, which I absolutely hate! We try so very hard to keep him sitting down in the bath tub, but all he wants is to stand up! So if anyone has any pointers to dissuade him from standing/walking in the bath, I’m open to any and all suggestions.
Going into month twelve with Landon was so.much.fun. We ended up moving into a house in Leander, so that took up much of our time and focus. However, Cory’s parents and grandma were down visiting for the 12th month, so it was great for them to spend some much needed and enjoyed time with Landon. One of our bigger group outings was to the Austin Rodeo! I’ve only ever been to the one in Houston, but Austin didn’t really disappoint. It was hot, though, and some of us preferred doing things others necessarily didn’t, but it was a fun outing with the family! Read more about it all here.
We also took family photos that month because it’s something I’ve really been wanting to do. I’m not a big “professional photo” kinda girl, but now that Landon is in our lives, I’d love to make it an annual thing right around his birthday. It’s a great way to capture the way our family is growing but the weather is also amazing in April! It was truly my first time working with a professional photographer and after asking around for recommendations, we settled on Logan Fahey. She was within budget for what we wanted and she was seriously amazing to work with! She was accommodating and having her own sweet baby boy at home, she was so patient with Landon and captured some precious moments of the three of us.
And since Landon’s birthday was just around the corner, I couldn’t help but get some shots of him in his birthday shirt to be able to cherish forever and always. My sweet boy at one year old! And my heart seriously melts every single time I look at these pictures! I’m unbelievably grateful for them.

Landon Erwin, you absolutely light up our lives and are the center of our universe. My mama heart still cannot fathom that we all made it to your FIRST BIRTHDAY in one piece. You are a happy, healthy boy and I could not be more thrilled that you’re growing and learning at a great pace. I pray that you continue finding joy in anything and everything and that nothing dulls that sparkle in your eyes. You can be exhausting at times, but playing with you and watching the adventurer in you is beyond words. You just exude joy, sweet boy, and I am so dang lucky to be your mama! Your daddy and I love you beyond the moon and are grateful to be your parents.
