I honestly thought that it would be natural to photograph my son since I’m obsessed with taking pictures and can never seem to have enough or get enough. I absolutely love pictures and the stories they tell, and I’m always telling people to “stop” whatever they’re doing or to repeat what they just did for a picture. And they mostly oblige :). But that hasn’t seemed to have been the case these past 7 months. Instead, I find myself scrolling through the photos on my phone and am disheartened by the lack of pictures I have of my son. Don’t get me wrong, I have many, but they’re few and far between.
I’m chalking it up to exhaustion (because hellooooooo? seven month old baby in the house and first time mom that doesn’t know what she’s doing) and forgetfulness. By the time I get home from work, feed the baby, wash bottles, prepare clothes and formula and bottles and diapers (*insert everything except the kitchen sink here*) for the next day, tend to anything he may want or need or have thrown across the room/broken, I’m beat. If I can muster up enough energy to eat and shower and make it to bed, I call it a win most nights.
But I’ve had enough of the excuses – the “I”m too tired”‘s or “I forgot again”‘s. I’m going to be more intentional in taking pictures of Landon. And not 500 of the same outfit/pose/activity. I want to capture a little bit of the every day to look back on – to see how much he changes from month to month and year to year.
So today, I’m sharing some pictures of Landon. Because it’s Monday and we all need a little baby love to make it through this day. Or is that just me?
I am so obsessed with our sweet boy and am excited to work on capturing his joy and baby-ness! Here’s to more baby pictures! Because can you ever really have “too many”?
