A weekend recap on a Wednesday?! You betcha! That’s how good of a weekend it was…no time to blog about it prior to that dreaded Monday morning and busyness laziness set in yesterday. So, what better way to start off hump day than by reminiscing over a glorious, glorious weekend?! I can’t think of one.
I shared drinks with amazing friends, laughed until I couldn’t breathe, tried new things, spent time with loved ones, and cherished every single second. Oh, and I ate wayyy more than I should have. #sorrynotsorry
We spontaneously ventured out to the infamous ‘downtown Austin’ Friday night after basically everyone had a pretty crappy day. What better way to deal with that other than to dance too much, drink too much, and laugh way too much?! Again, there isn’t one. It was perfection! There were swanky lounges, not so swanky bars, loud music, shoe purchases, lots of sweaty people, sarcasm, mirror smears, drinks galore, and tub crawls.

Oh, you don’t know about tub crawls? Here’s an example from this weekend:

You know it’s a good night when you end up in the tub for no reason whatsoever!
Saturday was filled with lots of family time and new adventures! Included in this was kayaking on lady bird lake for the first time for any of us, and it was a blast! And no, there are no pictures of said kayaking because we were on the lake and therefore had no phones. Unstable water device plus not so graceful people plus water plus phone equals disaster, so we avoided that at all costs. It was a beautiful day on the lake and we enjoyed every minute. Well, I did at least :). We decided on two doubles and were so glad we did! Fun, fun times. I’ll definitely be back! I’m just not sure if any of my family members will volunteer to tag along again. Soreness definitely set in the next day!

Also, note to self and anyone else that’s never been kayaking: yes, you get wet! Don’t wear blue jean shorts. Actually, just go with a swim suit to be safe! You won’t regret it. 🙂
The rest of the weekend was spent napping and spending some quality time with family. There’s truly never a dull moment when my family is involved, and I wouldn’t have it any other way! I’m so blessed to have had such a crazy, busy, fun-filled weekend with those that I love! I can’t wait to do it all again soon.
