It’s a new year, a new month, and time for new goals (or to do’s, if you will)!
I’ll be honest – brutally honest – and admit that I
jumped fell off the bandwagon of goals last year, even when I was still desperately trying to stay held accountable by posting them here in this space. I’d spend time really thinking and praying about what I could/should realistically accomplish each month, and sure, of course they all sounded great in theory. But it wasn’t realistic. It wasn’t what my heart, soul, mind, and body truly needed or was passionate about in order to truly commit to the goals and get them done each month. So, with that being said, I’m focusing on being more INTENTIONAL this year with my to-do’s and making it more of a checklist (because I love lists, duh). Even if the tasks aren’t very daunting, it’s okay. They are still things I want and need to get accomplished for the month.
Here’s to being more intentional and going beyond my typical “goals” standard. Here’s to January!
1. Read 2 books.
This is pretty self-explanatory, but this year, I want to get back on track with better reading. So I’m starting out small and allowing myself some breathing room.
2. Consistently post on the blog.
My new blogging schedule is posting three days a week, on Mondays, Wednesdays, and Fridays. And this year, in 2016, so far so good! Welcome to Wednesday’s post, friends! And, you can pretty much guarantee that my next post will be up on Friday. 🙂 Consistency is key, and something I’m absolutely terrible with. It’s a work in progress, honest!
3. Clean & organize post-holiday chaos.
Our place is pretty chaotic right now and I want to change that oh so badly. The holidays came and went, and it left a terrible disaster of a mess in its wake. So this month, I really need to clean up, organize, put things away, throw things away, and really get settled to tackle this new year.
I’ve been failing a lot lately in my prayer life, and it needs to stop. Now. I’m really focusing on being more intentional and praying prayers that go beyond my normal limits. Even if it’s a mere “help, Lord”, I’m kick-starting my prayer life this month!
I’m really hoping for a successful month and to check all of these off of my list! I truly believe these to-do’s are attainable and realistic. Some of them are a “one and done” task while others are more “consistency” based that will require focus and commitment for the entire month. Now to just get off my butt and knock them out!
What are some of your January goals?
I need to read some more too! We can do it!
YES!! I'm glad I'm not alone in my reading venture. It always brings me such joy to dive into an amazing story and I don't know why I don't try to make time for it more often. Hoping to really change that this year!
