Our sweet boy is now nine months old. He’s now been in our lives as long as he was in my belly. Time really does fly, doesn’t it?
Month nine was a little tough for me, as Landon spent two weeks of it in Pennsylvania with Cory and his family while I was home in Texas. If you’re wondering whether or not it would be difficult to be away from your child at this age – the answer is a resounding YES! I knew it would be hard, and it definitely wasn’t ideal, but it was good for all of us in the long run. And my son and husband were both home for Christmas, so my mama heart was full and overjoyed having my guys back for the holidays!
It snowed while they were up north, so Landon got to experience his first official S.N.O.W.! How freakin’ adorable is he? He apparently wasn’t super into it (hello, only 8 months old…), but he didn’t hate it, either. And let me just say that I am so unbelievably grateful for technology, because not only was I able to get pictures and videos of Landon during those two weeks (thanks, husband, for keeping up with this without me having to nag you for photos!), but I was able to actively watch Landon’s first snow experience live! What a blessedness.
When I was finally reunited with my son, I was in tears (go figure)! It was after midnight when Cory and Landon got home, and I didn’t care that I had to work the next day – I got up and hugged them both so tightly. It was probably the longest two weeks of my life. I had missed them both so much and couldn’t believe they were finally home, in my arms. I was so thankful and overjoyed! But I digress.
Landon weighs 23.4 pounds and is 29 inches tall. He’s truly mastered crawling and is now getting into anything and everything. He is EVERYWHERE and absolutely hates sitting still (which made for the most difficult attempt at a monthly picture thus far). He’s starting to wean out of the “cuddling” phase (*insert sobbing emoji here*) because he just doesn’t want to sit still! However, I got to rock him to sleep one night last week and I hadn’t realized how much I missed that time with him and needed it. We try not to rock him to sleep every night, but he was struggling and just needed his mama (at least that’s what I’m telling myself). He’s just more like a little boy now instead of a baby and I cringe because I know time is only going to seem to move faster instead of slowing down. The days are long but the years are short, am I right?
We also celebrated our sweet boy’s first Christmas this month and I loved every single minute. I know he was too young to truly enjoy and appreciate it, but it was amazing to see my son in front of a Christmas tree and to “open” gifts (more like watch his mama open gifts). Even though he napped through our immediate family’s Christmas, he had his own “Christmas gift” session and loved all of his new toys. I look forward to watching him play with them all and see him learning from them as he grows.

I cannot believe our sweet boy is already nine months, but I have absolutely cherished watching him grow and learn over these past nine months. We had a rocky start, but things have definitely improved! Bubby is happy and healthy and is still the light of our lives. We are so in love with Landon and can’t wait to see what next month holds!
