With friends and family present, Landon was baptized and accepted into the Christian community last weekend.
Be still my heart.
We had a few hiccups with the date for his baptism, but we ultimately settled on June 17, 2017 and it couldn’t have gone any better! Cory’s parents were even able to be there and be a part of the celebration, so that was a huge bonus. And his baptismal outfit…y’all, I can’t. It’s seriously the most adorable thing EVER!
Am I right, or what? That little vest and shorts set was perfection. It even had a little tie with crosses on it! So adorable. Sadly, the socks that we got to go with it were GIGANTIC, even in the smallest size available. So, those were definitely not worn, as they would’ve been more like awkward leggings than anything else, and we weren’t about that life.

Having Landon baptized was such a blessing, and I am so thankful to everyone who showed up to support him and us in this spiritual journey! I know it’s difficult to carve time out of people’s busy lives, but he (see: we) was definitely loved on and I am oh so thankful. And I have no clue what was going on with my face here. But I do know that I was hot holding Landon the entire time – also, I’m not usually wearing my hair down because hello, baby plus Texas heat just don’t mix with hair being worn down. So, that definitely didn’t help. I’m hot-natured anyway, but I was so sure that you’d be able to see the sweat dripping down my face in every single picture. Ha! Thankfully, that’s not the case.

He’s baptized! Landon did so good during the entire baptism, except when the holy water was poured on his head. He screamed. And didn’t stop for a good while. Sweet boy does so well with baths these days, but washing his hair/head is another story – he hates it! So, I wasn’t surprised that he wailed as soon as the water hit his little head. BUT, he did settle down eventually and was even cooperative for pictures after!
Landon and his godparents! He is one blessed boy to have these two in his life.
And it’s not official until there’s a cake to celebrate with, right? 🙂 HEB for the win, and it was seriously so good! I may or may not have had cake for breakfast the next morning…
Our sweet boy did so good and had such a blessed day! He was definitely worn out at the end of the night and slept FOR EIGHT HOURS for the first time ever! Y’all, straight through the night without waking up even a single time. Sweet baby Jesus, alleluia! It hasn’t happened since (we did hit a 7 hour night, though!), but I take what I can get, when I can get it. He’s getting there :). And this is how his daddy put him down for the night. He couldn’t find a blanket so he grabbed the closest thing to it: this monkey lovey. It was the most adorable thing ever (daddy just wanted to make sure his baby boy was covered, warm, and comfortable for bed!), and I just had to snap a picture before I switched it with an actual blanket. Be still my heart. For real. I’m blessed.
